DJ comments: My cousin Josh played these guys for me back in 1987 or 88, can't remember exactly. This was pre-Internet, pre-Napster/file sharing, pre-widespread availability of satellite TV (hence, no MTV in my town, not on our cable system). This was when I lived in the metropolis of Waukon, and had to rely on catching wind of cool music from relatives who lived in bigger cities or from brief articles in Thrasher magazine. Needless to say, Descendents was a lot different from the shit they played on Z93 out of LaCrosse, Wis.; I was hooked. (I mean, c'mon, you can only hear Cutting Crew so many times before you say "enough is enough.") I'm still hooked, 20 (or 21) years later. All! — cwc
